How do I close my account?

Modified on Tue, 10 Dec at 9:46 AM

For contract-related changes, the request must come from the Contract Signor or an Authorized Representative on the account.

You can request to close your account by submitting a ticket via our ENGIE Resources Support Portal.

However, keep in mind that if your contract is still active, there may be an Early Termination Fee (ETF). The ETF is calculated based on the difference between the contracted price and the current market price of electricity, along with the remaining supply at the time of termination. Upon submitting your request, we will inform you of any fees so you can decide whether to proceed with closing your account.

To expedite your request, please provide the following information in your ticket request:

Texas Accounts:

-Please provide the date in which you would like power disconnected. Utilities do not work orders on Saturdays or Sundays.

-Please also include if you need the meter removed.

Non-Texas Accounts:

-We will submit the order to your utility company, which will determine when your account transitions back based on their meter reading cycle and your final bill date with ENGIE.
